Chairmen's Message

As a 16-year Braves season ticket holder, it gives me great pride to welcome Kenshin Kawakami to Atlanta and serve as the co-chair of this fan club. The record 14-year run of Braves’ Division Championships was fueled by some of the best pitching Major League baseball has ever seen. The acquisition of Kenshin Kawakami will help the Braves move toward the goal of returning to the playoffs and competing for another World Series title.

The Kenshin Kawakami Fan Club has been formed to enable all Braves fans to support Kenshin’s historic arrival as the first Japanese player to join the Braves. It will also give Braves fans a chance to share our love of baseball with the many members of the Japanese community in the Southeastern U.S. Please sign up for our club emails and come join as at viewing parties, networking events and Braves games and be a part of the excitement

皆さま、こんにちは。この度、ファンクラブのCo-Chairmanを務めさせていただくことになりました野間と申します。

やっとアトランタブレーブズにも日本人選手が！川上選手は今年の１月に正式契約し、冴えない世の中に（少なくとも南東部の日系コミュニティーに（笑））吉報をもたらしました。２０年以上ブレーブズを応援してきた私としてはとても嬉しかったです。やはり、アメリカで頑張る日本人に頑張って欲しい！という気持ちは皆さんお持ちだと思います。それがメジャーリーグ、そして我々の身近にあるアトランタブレーブズで頑張る日本人がいるとなりますと尚更応援しなければいけません。そんな気持ちも含め、本ファンクラブを立ち上げることになりました。活動としましては実際の試合を観戦しにいったり、Viewing Party（アウェーゲーム時に）を主催するなど川上選手の応援を目的とする様々なイベントを考えております。川上選手及びアトランタブレーブズにとって最高のシーズンになるよう、皆様と一緒にこのファンクラブを作り上げていきたいと思っておりますので是非、一緒に盛り上げていきましょう！
